# Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible to become a Chapter President and/or to host an Ambassador Program event, an individual must be a natural person who:

* [x] Is 18 years of age or older;
* [x] Is not a citizen of, located in, or otherwise normally residing in Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, any Russian-controlled region of Ukraine, or any other country or region subject to sanctions by the US Department of Treasury Office of Foreign Asset Control (“OFAC”), as may be updated from time to time;
* [x] Is not identified on the Specially Designated Nationals or Blocked Persons list provided by OFAC; and
* [x] Does not reside in a jurisdiction where the transfer and holding of cryptocurrency is illegal or would require a special license or authorization that the such person does not possess.

**Additionally, they should:**

* [x] Be based in their chapter (or proposed chapter) region;
* [x] Be active in the Stellar community;
* [x] Have technical, professional, or business knowledge relevant to Stellar.

#### Legal Intake Form

To verify eligibility, SDF requires Chapter Presidents and/or event hosts to pass a KYC check and may also require completion of a due diligence process. All prospective Chapter Presidents are required to complete a series of essential forms as part of the Chapter President onboarding process.

This [Legal Intake form](https://airtable.com/app1OTIKdGhyRJ2JQ/pagwlZCdUg9OwBTxh/form) will walk you through all compliance and onboarding requirements to become a Chapter President. These requirements include:

* **KYC:** All Chapter Presidents must submit and pass a [Know Your Customer (KYC) form](https://stellar.org/kyc) check. This securely stored information follows the privacy practices outlined in the [SDF Privacy Policy](https://stellar.org/privacy-policy). You will not receive a confirmation number once the KYC form has been completed. Be sure that the legal name you provide on the Airtable Legal Intake form matches the name you use to complete the KYC form.
* **Due Diligence:** All Chapter Presidents must complete a due diligence questionnaire, included in the Legal Intake form. Be sure to download a copy, answer each question honestly and thoroughly, and then upload the completed questionnaire into the designated field in the Legal Intake form.
* **Tax forms:** In order to receive payments, Chapter Presidents must complete and upload appropriate tax forms, as an individual either within or outside the United States.
* **XLM wallet address:** In order to receive payments in XLM, each Chapter President must submit a valid Stellar wallet address. Many custodial services (including most crypto exchanges) require a memo to route funds, so make sure to provide the memo ID if you are using a service that requires one.
* **Master Acknowledgement:** Finally, all Chapter Presidents must read through and accept the Stellar Ambassador Program Master Acknowledgement. By checking the boxes and signing the Master Acknowledgement in the Legal Intake form, Chapter Presidents acknowledge that they’ve read and understood these terms.
